We are a team of high school students in 11th and 12th grade participating in a FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) program called FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge). In this program we design an 18" x 18" x 18" robot that completes tasks from this year's challenge, learn programming skills and engineering techniques, and do community outreach to spread our love of robotics to our local community.
Last year, we participated in FTC together in our third year in the 2017-2018 Relic Recovery season. Prior to our start in FTC, we participated in FLL for four years.

Our team is made up of 4 members. We are connected through our love of robotics and STEM. Here's a quick description of each of us.
Ava- I am a 17 year old, and a senior at Southwest High School. I participated in FLL for 4 years, and this is my third year doing FTC. I joined FTC, so that I could learn new things about robotics, and be able to search for a career that I enjoy. I also am in Student Council. I have been to Iran eight times, and I speak Farsi. I enjoy listening to music from many diverse countries especially Marc Anthony.
Isabella- I am 17 years old and a senior at Southwest. I’m starting my fourth year of FTC. I play the saxophone in band, and also participate in extracurriculars like Debate, Model UN, and others. I love spending time with my friends and family. I love FTC because I enjoy helping and connecting with my community through outreach, and encouraging others to join robotics Rachel- I am 16 years old and I am a junior at Southwest High School. I am super excited for my fourth year of FTC. I love learning new programming techniques and using more advanced engineering tools. Outside of FTC, I play clarinet in my school band, love baking with my family for the team, and participate in math competitions after school. I love learning real-world skills in FTC that I know I can actually use later in my life. I know that by being in FTC, I am a part of something bigger. Izzie- I am 17 years old and a senior at Southwest High school. I participated in FLL for four years and this year will be my fourth season in FTC. Our team has great chemistry and I love my teammates, I’m so lucky to be part of this great team. I’m excited to learn more about building and programming and I enjoy being a part of this program. Outside of the FTC team, I play piano and soccer. I love engineering our robot with the rest of the team. |
